The United States’ largest trade association, the Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers (AWFS) represents the interests of a diverse collection of companies whose products are used by the commercial and home furnishing industries.
The AWFS works hard both for and on behalf of its members, as well as for the future of the woodworking and furnishing industries.
Joining the AWFS provides a company with a number of membership benefits. These benefits include discounted shipping programs, business services such as payment programs, telecommunications solutions, an industry specific product directory, and regular press involvement.
They advocate tirelessly for the industries, regularly taking part in legislative advocacy campaigns with a number of partner organizations, such as the Federal Wood Industries Coalition (FWIC), of which it is a member. The AWFS also supports educational initiatives, such as sponsoring SkillsUSA and their own outreach efforts, to secure the future of the woodworking industries.
Among the AWFS’s most visible efforts is AWFS®Fair.
Held biannually on odd-numbered years at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, AWFS®Fair is the most forward thinking and innovative fair in the woodworking trade. Held from July 22 to 25, this year’s AWFS®Fair featured, among other things:
- More than 550 exhibitors
- A number of informative seminars
- College of Woodworking Knowledge (CWWK) educational programs
As a proud member of the AWFS, Glaser and Associates had a booth at AWFS®Fair throughout the week.
Glaser and TorpedoCSIS
AWFS®Fair 2015 was the first AWFS®Fair that Glaser attended as an exhibitor
This was the first trade show that Glaser attended after announcing our strategic partnership with TorpedoCSIS. As such, it was appropriate to invite TorpedoCSIS to share our booth with us — this made AWFS®Fair the first North American trade show that TorpedoCSIS, an Australian company, attended since their founding in 2010.
Glaser Vice President Josh Glaser and TorpedoCSIS CEO Jeantife Gebeyehu were on hand all week to introduce people to TorpedoCSIS’s innovative collection of proprietary furniture and panel connectors. Responses to the simple, easy to use, reusable connectors were very positive.
2015 was the biggest year ever in AWFS®Fair history, with a record breaking number of attendees. It made for a very fitting introduction of TorpedoCSIS to the North American market.
