Some of the world’s most complicated and famous stadiums stand strong with Lindapter.

Lindapter has been pushing the envelope of steel-to-steel clamping systems since they were founded in 1934. Lindapter’s solutions save time and money - easy and convenient installation with basic handheld tools eliminates time delays caused by site closures or and obtaining hot work permits. Support and customer service are part of Lindapter’s package - technical engineers will develop customized solutions for any project at NO COST.

With stadium projects, safety is not negotiable. Lindapter brings peace of mind with its long list of accreditations. Whether you’re planning for an NFL stadium build or just revamping the hometown football stadium, calculate Lindapter into your plans.

Target Field Ballpark

Located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Target Field Ballpark is a striking $425 million dollar, 40,000 seat stadium that is home to the Minnesota Twins. Its defining architectural feature is a 1,988-ton steel sunshade canopy that circles the stadium, with a striking 7,432 m² soffit - the largest in baseball -  that is suspended overhead with Lindapter steelwork fixings.

The curved canopy is an architectural marvel, but the connecting beams that varied widely in size and angles created a challenge to the connection design.  Safety was a top concern to the engineers as they looked to meet the criterion of accommodating up to 22.3kN of wind load. The contractor wanted a universal connection that could be used on both primary and secondary steel sections and was simple to install. Lindapter’s Type LR connection (size M20 in a 4 bolt figuration) provided one solution that exceeded these requirements.

The efficient connection allowed the canopy risers to be easily aligned into position, allowing a faster installation than conventional methods such as drilling, or repeated tack welding and grinding, thereby reducing on-site costs and making the overall project far more safe since the canopy construction consisted mostly of elevated and overhead work.

San Francisco 49ers Stadium

Levi’s Stadium is one of the most impressive in the world. Home to the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, this $1.3 billion dollar stadium seats over 68,500 fans. Lindapter connections were used on two essential parts of the structure: the signage and the pipe supports.

Lindapter Hollo-Bolts were used to secure the support brackets for the large signs that are installed high up above the stadium. As a large structure located in Northern California, seismic activity and wind were special concerns; Hollo-Bolts are fully seismic approved by ICC-ES for resisting wind and seismic loads. Lindapter saved time and money: because drilling and welding aren’t necessary, no site closures or hot work permits were needed. Simple hand tools also allowed for a quick and convenient installation.

For the pipe supports the mechanical contractor, Lindapter’s technical engineers spoke to FW Spencer & Son and then created drawings of the proposal that detailed how to use Lindapter Type AF clamps, which are now ICC-ES Seismic approved to connect pipes support bracket assemblies to the I-beams which then allowed the installation of the pipes to the primary structural I-beams. Again, no need for drilling or welding, hot work or area closures, which saved the contractors time and money on the project.

Salt River Fields

Located on Native American land outside of Scottsdale, Arizona, the Salt River Fields stadium serves as the spring training facility for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies.

This project was defined by its aggressive, fast-tracked construction schedule that demanded safe solutions to facilitate fast construction. Lindapter’s ICC-ES approved Hollo-Bolts were used in the structural connections of floodlighting frames around the stadium - they connect the large end plates of the horizontal structural tube cross beams to the vertical tubular frame of the lighting rig. These large angled tubes of the floodlight frames stand out in the stadium’s landscape - a project that Engineering News-Record named the Southwest 2011 Sports Project of the Year.

NRG Stadium

NGR Stadium is an indoor/outdoor rodeo and NFL stadium located in Houston, Texas. The stadium prides itself on the quality of experience it can bring to its guests through the advanced audio-visual experiences.

Lindapter’s Hollo-Bolt was used to secure the stadium’s digital display board, which is one of the largest video screens in the world by 25%. Made up of several boards that are each 52 feet by 277 wide, this screen that totals 14,549 square feet is one of the reasons the NRG Stadium was selected to host the big game in 2017.
